48 squads, 1,245 players

Every finalist registered up to 26 players (at least three of them goalkeepers), and FIFA confirmed all squads on 2 June 2026 — 1,245 players in total. The field includes seven former champions — Brazil, Germany, Argentina, France, Uruguay, England and Spain, who between them hold 18 of the 22 titles awarded so far — and four debutants: Cape Verde, Curaçao, Jordan and Uzbekistan. The loudest absence is four-time winner Italy, which missed a third consecutive World Cup. Brazil arrives with its record 23rd appearance — still the only nation to have played in every edition.

The dugouts are worth a look on their own: Carlo Ancelotti leads Brazil, Thomas Tuchel takes England, and Mauricio Pochettino coaches host nation United States.

Using the team explorer

Open any team card to see its full squad — shirt number, position, club, caps, goals and age for every player, plus the coach and captain. You can filter by group or confederation and search by player or club name to find, say, every Premier League player at the tournament. Each card also shows the team's World Cup record (appearances, titles, best result) and its current Elo rating, which feeds the match predictor on the overview page. Squad data is drawn from FIFA's confirmed lists as of June 2026 and is provided for educational and fan use.
